E3 Quick Impressions: Microsoft was =D, Sony was -.-, Nintendo – sowut? June 19, 2010

Quick word in after my intense finals..Unlike my co-bloggers, I do not think Nintendo won, at all.  Kinect looks like it has a lot of potential. Being first gen, I was already impressed by its capabilities. Being controller free, it can sense all of the joints and track movement in 3d. All the games also have very nice graphics, and not the neckless armless avatars from the wii. The price seems a bit steep, but I think the hardware is all there- only software updates  are needed in the future. The Sony stuff seemed kind of iffy. It neither caters to the typical “hardcore” gamers or teh casual gamers. Nintendo didnt feel very exciting either. I don’t care for any of those games, and 3D? So what? Doesn’t seem like much of an innovation when every screen around you is getting 3d tacked on to it. Visuals are not that impressive..no idea what people are banging on about. I would pick up the kinect but 450$ seems awfully steep lol. Maybe when kinect 2 comes out then.

I hate Windows 7 (but you probably don’t care). May 20, 2010

Background: I downloaded Windows 7 beta hm..2days ago? After a little wait and partitioning with GParted, it was set up within 20minutes. After 3 days of use I have come to this conclusion: I hate windows 7.  Since Apple brought out their painfully successful line of iPod players back in 2000 or whatever (who really cares?), idiots everywhere have been flocking towards apple and  chanting their mantra (We design for retards) on. It was first back in whatever year that I read 29*#$9×91 did i realise that apple does in fact position them self to design gadgets for idiots . At first i thought that he was just saying this to get hits. However, after entering university, his claims have become painfully obvious.

In term 1, i began to realise the level of penetration apple achieved in universities (which is apparently almost 50% based on some survey). Anyway 7 is too damn easy to use. OSX can keep the retards. Those who want a real PC that can actually run things may feel free to use a computer properly and use m$ products (even tho 7 is already dumbed down )

PS3 Home Sucks. January 2, 2009

After seeing it at Gabet’s house, PS3 Home kind of sucks. It has got no interesting features, just a avatar that sits on chairs and runs around town. It may have been his crappy internet connection, but the downloads seem to take awhile; and errors kept us from going into various locations. Some of which even logged us out of PS3 network. I can see why PS3 is failing so badly, it just kinda sucks. Home has no special appeal., people just go on there to screw around making it a poor experience for people who want to do something contructive (like what? you may ask, I dont know). ANyway school starts in 2 days. Hope UBC burns down inbetween now and then. .
